ATA/ATDC Entrepreneur Finance Series
How to Raise Early-Stage Capital
The Atlanta Technology Angels and the Advanced Technology Development Center are pleased to invite you to attend the ATA / ATDC Entrepreneur Finance Series, a comprehensive course developed by ATA for entrepreneurs raising capital. The course, which consists of four sessions, will be hosted by ATDC as part of its brown bag luncheon series. Each session will be held from 11:45 am to 1:00 pm in the Hodges Room on the third floor of the 75 Fifth Street building at Technology Square in Midtown. The course is free of charge and lunch will be provided.
Entrepreneurial companies generally require one or several rounds of financings in order to succeed. Unfortunately, it happens far too often that entrepreneurs fail in this endeavor, not because their company is not fundable, but because of their lack of understanding of the capital raising process and today’s market for early-stage capital. The ATA / ATDC Entrepreneur Finance Series is aimed at filling this knowledge gap and will cover all of the finance, legal and tax issues that an entrepreneur will need to know to launch a successful capital raise. Each session will be taught by experts from ATA and is designed to be highly interactive.
This session will cover how to raise early-stage capital. Topics will include:
• Small business financing sources
• Venture financing sources
• Venture financing strategy
• Angel investment
• Angel financing process

Entrepreneurs who complete the first two sessions will receive an invitation to attend a highly acclaimed half-day seminar on the valuation of early-stage companies that the Angel Capital Education Foundation is presenting to the ATA members and other local angels on November 10. The seminar will provide a detailed presentation on the various methodologies for valuing early-early stage companies and will give the attending entrepreneurs the opportunity to meet and interact with local angel investors.
